Have you been to Arthurs Pass before? Because I hadnt spent a lot of time there, until this season, its great. There are half a dozen club fields in the area that have some amazing terrain. I did a mish up from QT with some of the crew that didnt go over to Style Wars to check out Temple Basin.

Its a nice drive with heaps of views if ya want to be a tourist.

Make sure ya keep the car full. We were metres away from running out of fuel. Phew!

It is an hr or so hike up to temple which is a bit of a mish when theres lots of snow around, but is well worth it.

Once you make it up the hike, the next challenge is using a nut cracker, these things are crazy, you will have to experience them yourself to know what I mean. Heath Patterson gives it a go!


The snow wasnt the best when we made it up there they had a night of rain which we were hoping was snow, so we had springy conditions, but still found heaps of stuff to have fun on and scoped some spots for the next trip.

The bunk rooms are crazy, they go up three levels and apparently people have fallen of the top ones.

Make sure ya dont leave your gear outside there is plenty of kias up there.
