TTR 6 Star Burton US Open

March 16 - 22 2009, Stratton Mountain, VT

Welcome to shralp! episode 121 from April 5th 2009. You heard Liam. Although the US Open is not the final contest of the season check episode 97 for last years surprise it is still the grand finale of the snowboarding year. While you see the quaterpipe night event, I have one sad news for you: You wont see Shaun White. After injuring his ankle in the pipe he decided not to compete in the finals of the US Open.

Warm sunny weather on pipe day. The snow was soft but riding was hard. See yourself.

Shauns absence made it easy for Peetu. Second place in the pipe was more than enough to become TTR Champion 2009.

Conditions on slopestyle day was a little more on the difficult side. Sun, fog, clouds even fresh, but sticky snow made the course extra slow.

After his win at the Asia Open, Chas has been leading the overall Open ranking. A first place at the slopestyle comp cleared all doubts. Chas Guldemond claimed the BGOS Championship title.

Preview: Longboard Classic

April 18 2009 / Stuben, Austria

After all this big money contests, how about something more relaxed. If you live in Central Europe you should come to the Longboard Classic in Stuben on April 18th. These pictures you see are from the event two years ago taken from episode 68.

The longboard classic is sort of the class of 89 reunion and riders like Terry Kidwell, Shawn Farmer, Mike Basich, Jose Fernandes, Reto Lamm, Micki Frh, Oliver Holzmann or Martin Freinandemetz already promised to show up.
