Aug 13th '09 - The SOL Square Rail Jam
13th August 2009
I got on my camera out to check on the Skull Candy Rail Jam in SOL square Saturday night. I got some photos, the snowboarders got some tricksand everybody had a good time.

Scott Buckner did an amazing job organizing it all and had the whole place running like clockwork. The square was full of people to check the action and live entertainment.
After a jam session, 10 wildcard riders & 20 invited riders from as far as Q-town, Mt Hutt & the Porters park crew not to mention the Cheapskates and Stepchild teams battled for the car with some major hammers down the 6m urban down rail in the downtown arena of SOL square.
Liam Ryan was left standing on top, with the keys to a brand new 96 Subaru Legacy with 148,000kms on the clock filled with amongst other things a few boxes of beer and the start to an amazing night. Christy Prior absolutely killed it for the girls all night, winning with a multitude of tricks. Cheapskates and Burton 15 y/o rep Jess Comber received top grommie award, and the youngest rider stomped some sweet 5050s.

Sunshine Sound System kept the Double Happy after party moving all night.
A few trick that blew everyone apart included:
- Liam winning twice in the finals, bs 270 in 270 out and inside half
cab back 1 out
- Christy's 5050 pivot back one and perfect front boards
- Cline Ingle trick of the night bs 270 nose slide 270 out
- Andy C getting second with a fs 270 nose slide
- Jai Kearny 3rd for a casanova front board 270 change up
- Georgie Allen 2nd womens front board fakie
- Ash Guthrie fs 270 in 270 out
A huge thanks to all involved from set up to riding to after party to
taking it down the day and the sponsors.
