Nov 19th '09 : Parkumentary: Part 1

19th November 2009

Bear Mountain goes deep in shred history, and to mark their 20th year building terrain parks -- specifically for snowboarders -- the resort has released "Parkumentary." The documentary style film tracks the sport's association with Bear, going all the way back to 1989, when the first hand-dug halfpipe popped up at Snow Summit, followed by the Outlaw park that opened in 1990.

ESPN Snowboarding has partnered with Bear Mountain and will be releasing the full movie in a nine-part series, one part a week. Here's the first. Peep the beginnings of this sunny Southern California resort that has managed to hold such a prominent place in snowboarding for essentially as long as the sport has been around.
