FEATURE : Pre Season Session on the Pisa Range. By Jeremy Town

A fresh blanketing of snow and bluebird skies were more than enough reason to get us off our laptops for a pre season shred around Snow Park.

Which way to go?

Anticipation.....
The access road was in good condition and
despite losing a chain on the trusty old Rolla we made it up in one
piece. After scoping out a tasty looking wind lip and rock jib line, we
geared up and began hiking.
Half an hour later and both feeling
like unfit contestants on the Biggest Loser we reached our
destination. Piers set up the cam to capture a time lapse of an
approaching southerly front, while I sussed out somewhere to shoot
stills.
The powder was knee deep, dry goodness and Piers Harding
made short work of the wind lip, hacking it to pieces. I managed to bang
out some shots while the light was still on our side. After an hour or
so of mucking around we were pretty much spent. One last run as the sun
dipped behind the breathtaking Southern Alps was a satisfying way to cap
off a fun little mission.
