I own a bataleon, bought an ex demo goliath for $350 last year. It's the best board i've ever owned, real nice for landing spins and spinning on rails as the edges are less likely to catch. Even doing 50-50's on rails is still sweet
If you can't make up ur mind just try them at demo days this season

Brother Bear aka Mitch Brown rocks Bataleon. I seen him do some mean sliders and spinners. Even back to back 9's and some 1080's. He liked em!!
Go checkout a demo day. They are worth a go for sure.

best boards ever. can't believe that it took so long for someone to think of that base idea - and that it wasn't some crap ski company that thought it up...

the LIB youth in asia has it on the nose and tail as well. City Boards has both brands I do believe.

Yep they're sick. Been riding them for two seasons. The triple base thing really works, you can spin a back 450 and get away with it no worries cause the edges don't catch. I've got one of their 08 twin tip demo boards (155) at my place if anyone wants to try it out. I'm based in Christchurch so if you're in the area flick me an email: dusted@surf.co.nz

Hey guys, this 'triple base' stuff sounds good, but, when I think about it, I feel as if i shouldn't dabble with that - is there not a chance that this could teach bad technique, and cause problems when using other boards?
Maybe I will have to take you up on that offer to find out, Jez.

Maybe ... I've been riding a flat board all week waiting for my new Bataleon to show up and haven't had any issues.
It's just a design that gives you a bit of extra confidence to go hard and try new tricks and improve quicker knowing you're not gonna eat it so often. Similar concept to jib boards like the Dominant Slick, Volkl Jibster etc. but it's good for freeriding also
Riding a soft board and detuning your edges hard out could also be considered bad for your technique but hey it's a lot more fun and less painful!

Phacade - know you don't want a sales pitch so I'm not going to try - need to demo one to really get the triple base thing anyway. I will say that triple base won't mess up your riding tho, if anything it'll improve it coz you'll progress faster.
You should see for yourself and drop us an email to demo - iwannademoa [at] bataleon [dot] co [dot] nz
We have boards all over the place that anyone can grab and take up for a day, or you can hit us up for a few runs at a demo day - we'll be at Ruapehu once a month or so and also in QT, and Wanaka (Looks like Aug 30/31 & Sept 1 at Cardrona - we also have a bunch of decks in Wanaka for casual demos). Check www.bataleon.co.nz/nzdemos.php for dates.
Snoop - the fun kink is a super fun jib deck - soft flex, nice wide inserts, bulletproof. Check out the evil twin too - it has a wider triple base mid plane for 50/50s and a softer flex between the bindings for boardslide lock-on. And it's fluoro green.
Get a taste with a demo...

Evil twin is a sick board but I knew 2 people who owned them and they went "dead" after about 1 month of riding. It could have been due to the fact that they were a little bit too heavy for the size of board...I think the board got replaced so its all good! check them out for sure.

yea for sure fllux are mint bindings, well designed, bomb proof and look rad, I ride 'em and love 'em, but, they are a cunty company and I don't think I'd buy their shit again.
Battaleon on the other hand, look fuckin sweet! Decent idea on the triple base, hell they work for mitch brown haha.

They are owned by carmate, who are a big japanese corporation that mainly make car accessories, Flux is basically like a little side project to keep their company cool, but they really don't seem to give a fuck about snowboarding. A year or two back they fired pretty much their whole international team or had some big internal disagreement or some shit, I dunno the details, but theres a lot of stuff floating around on the net about it. It's a shame coz as a binding company flux really do push binding desing and technology, but I'd rather buy product which sees at least some money go back into some sort of constructive support for the sport, ya know?

sounds like a bit of an m3 senario. Fuck it, I am still feeling the flux shit.
