Hello Peeps,
I planning to incorporate a 1-2 month snowboarding stop in NZ on a year long trip I am doing round the world. Will arrive in NZ in June next year.
I am 23 and an intermidiate border and was wondering if anywhere could advise me of the best resort in NZ for slopes and partying?
As I am also incorporating it into a longer trip I will have none of my gear so is their ok equipment to hire out there for a reasonable price? Also are lift passes mega bucks? Was thinking I could maybe work somewhere maybe a bar and get a free lift pass as I have done in Europe. Has anyone got any experience with this in NZ or could advise.
Your comments will be really appreciated
Cheers
Oli

I wouldnt know too much but I can recommend that Wanaka and Mt Raupehu would be the best places to go. Wanaka has more Park style riding and Mt Raupehu more free-ride also has some park. Your best bet would be to look at booth these websites it will answer most of your questions about jobs, hire prices and lift passes etc:

Yeah bro you may just fall in love with Ohakune too!! If you'll be riding at Ruapehu, Turoa (south side) is the better side to live because of Ohakune. BUT.. A month starting in June won't give you very good boarding conditions anywhere sorry. August would be a much better time. Things can happen though. Last year June was off the hook! I can't believe I just used that term...
