Every season I see promo and hype around Mt Hutt... every year I am disappointed! This year the Park was set to be bigger and better but with only 4 features so far Im totally confused.

no point in being disappointed, just learn to accept it. Mt Hutt will always over promise and under deliver, no point bitching, is there any better option?

hey, have you guys heard whats going on at porters this season? 4 features in over 2 weeks doesnt really cut it, maybe its time to leave mt hutt to the ski racers

call of the day Alan, Mt Hutt is all about the racing haha! I was at the Porters Jib session last year and it was siiiik but cant imaging ol Uli is that into a park either.

I ride down south, I spent a day at Mt Hutt last week and was pretty fuckin surprised that they bothered to promote such a half arsed attempt at a park, I thought they gonna take the 'MONOPOLY' haha, what a joke.

Easy now, give them a couple more weeks and I reckon they will have it all up and running...

Only mt hutt could stuff up a powder day as bad as they did today.

Yeah bro that was absoultely shit. I coudln't believe it... when you charge international prices you shouild be delivering a service that is up to international standards... and that sort of crap is unheard of overseas.

They didn't open the Summit 6 till one in the afternoon, I was waiting for 45 minutes at a time to get on the quad.

Where were the people working to clear the chair last night... or super early this morning.

I appreciate it can take some time to clear the lifts after a blizzard like that but really... the amount they are charging for lift/season passes, they must be able to afford a shed to put the chairs in overnight if it's stormy.

Fortunately I was up there on my season pass, but if I had paid $87 or whatever I would have been spitting tacks!!!

I often jump to your defence Mt Hutt but you blew it big time today and there are a lot of people hating on you right now...sort it out, I took a day off work for that shit.

All that said, I still have a smile on my dial, sick up there today, for the few runs of fresh I got, but could have been so much sicker.

And big up the crew that worked so hard to finally get the six runnning. I heard a few people giving the lifties shit about the situation but it's not their fault, it's a management balls up, not any of the lifties fault.

Fuck Yeah, Nice wall ride Porters, my mate works up there and the Park Crew are on their shit. Heard that there is heaps of sick shit going on this season, Mt Hutt has had its chance, Ill be at Porters, with 'ol' Uli who is finally more on his game than 'ol' Dave. (insert fuck you Mt Hutt symbol).

i was up there yesterday... luckily for me we didnt get up until 12, which meant we lined up for the 6 straight away.
but i agree, completely bullshit... and the 50 cms of new snow was NOT good quality snow at all... i have ridden 10cms of deeper powder then that, really wind blown.
poor snow, poor management, poor service, fuckin huuuuge lines. buut... a pretty fun day and im not complaining.

you guys no theres about 11 different mountains all within 1.5-2.5hrs of christchurch right? A lot of these mountains also understate their snow reports too, because who really wants to have a powder day with 3000 others? It does suck that no where in canterbury is reppin a park like down south or up north but we got way way more natural parks up here than those spots put together, ya just gotta leave mt crap and go explore your own backyard, oh yeah some of them have some pretty sick jibs too!

well of course there are better mountains in canterbury, infact i rate hutt pretty low on 'places to go'... but considering cheeseman is the only other one open (with extremely minimal snow) then its really the only place to go for another few days...

Hmm, here goes a pretty good explanation of what happened the other day at Hutt... I take back some of what I said in my above post... but I'm still pissed with them.

I read that article and I am pleased to see that they are responding to the public attitude towards them but perhaps they could take responsibility instead of putting it on the lifties who get paid fuck all.

As a field that charges so much, and gives so little I do not support their excuses. Mt Hutt can get away with charging the $87 but they cannot get away with repeatedly pissing off the locals, how many of the lifties or those hard working crew get $87 per day?? I certainly didnt when I worked there!

Im not just a disgruntled ex employee of Dave Wilson and his cronies, I am a pissed off punter who has supported the NZ snowboarding community for a long time, I am honestly at a loss for what makes a ski area feel that they can charge so high, pay so little and deliver even less. Its not about hating on Mt Hutt, its about letting them know that they need to wake up and see what they are doing to an industry that grew from being an enjoyable and fun activity.

Easy fellas. The park will be shaping up within the next couple days. The four features we had up was just to get by until we got some snow. Now that the snow has been falling, we will be getting it really set up within the next couple days.

Please realize when it is blowing and snowing it is almost impossible to put features up. Please be patient. It will be the sickest park Hutt has seen.

i worked there as a lifty in 06,2 of the rental guys and a few of us liftys gave Uli some ideas to play with,got the cat driver to push some snow around.
made a half arse attempt at a park,better than nothing.

not sure what they did last winter,but in summer i was talking to Uli and mentioned they need to up the game to accommodate the park rats..something for everyone
he seemed all for it...

as for hutt,if you keep getting disapointed why go there???

ill be suprised if its better than when Lewis and co were doing the Park!
