So after totally f**king myself over on the rainbox box at Hutt this weekend I have finally decided my 162 Canyon just isn't the right board for me to be riding parks on...

So my question is what is a good wide park board for me to buy... I wear size 13 boots so it's gotta be wide as.

Any suggestions appreciated,

Chur!

How heavy are you, are you more into kickers or rails, and do you still want to ride it all over the mountain? Check out the Ride Dose, K2 Darkstar wide, Bataleon Evil twin or Riot (159cm sizes are wides).

Also check out Salomon F series boots. There isn't a separate inner liner so your footprint is reduced at least one size, more if you currently has big ass boots like DCs!

Post your weight for recommendations. If you're riding a Canyon 162 is it safe for me to assume you're not hitting big (40+ ft) booters?

Lib Tech TRS MTX is a bit wide. Skate Banana also wide but it might e a bit too soft for you. Gnu TMX is pretty wide as well. K2 WWW are also pretty wide. Anyway you should head into your local shop and talk to the staff. They will help you out.

Cheers for the advice guys, with all the snow at Mt Hutt over the last couple of days it'll be a while till I look at hitting the park again anyways.

Probably go for one of those Skate Bananas though, they seem pretty decent.

Sirmungi - just because you've has issues with your board, doesn't mean Capita is a less than quality brand. I sold Capita in Whistler for 6+ months and relative to quantity sold we had far far less returns than Burton, Forum and Option. Capita is a sick brand, their product preforms well and is built to last. Obviously, as with any product, things do sometimes go wrong; this is where warranty comes in. But at the end of the day, how you ride and what you ride play a huge part in your board's longevity.

MTX is awesome in the powder. And on groomers. And on ice. But if you can't snowboard in the first place, then ain't nothing gonna help you but some lessons and a big glass of harden the fuck up!

Bevin - Apologies if badmouthing Capita offended you, I was fairly frustrated after ruining mine that afternoon at Cardrona. Yes the board was returned under warranty so no probs. I have just purchased a K2 Darkstar instead, I was about to buy a Capita Stairmaster until I spoke to a friend of mine who had rode them in whistler the season before and snapped two of them (admittedley he was riding a 152cm when he should be on a 156 or so, he is about 82 kgs) in one season. This is a shame because a really loved riding my Capita but found it very brittle, the board I was riding was a black death speed tribe which Capita claims to be a fairly bulletproof board. I previously had a K2 before buying my Capita and got 3 seasons of soilid punishment out it without a problem. With regards to having a cup of harden the fuck up, well I have never had the opportunity to ride a lib or batleon but if it makes riding easier then isnt it a good thing??...
