Looking at going to the canadian rockies in Feb next year. Thinking bout staying in banff for a week and a bit and then down to fernie for a week or so. With Banff looking at riding at sunshine/lake louise and maybe head down to panorama. and obviously ride fernie at fernie. Any suggestions, tips for that part of the world. any better resorts close to those areas?any ways to get things cheaper over there esp. lift tickets?

Go to sunshine if you want to ride flat ground, parks ok tho... Lake louise is ok but can get icy as unless you score it on a powder day... Panorama has reasonable terrain and park , kicking horse has good terrain and baby park, Fernie supposed to be super fun, Revelstoke (brand new resort) supposed to be mean also...
There is always a way to ride for free, just hit the locals up when out on the piss.. Or buy them a beer!

haha this sounds similar to the trip dive and ski had set up for me.decided to go tahoe instead though.Try getskitickets.com for cheap passes or ring dive n ski.they can do a pass only deal.

Def check out LakeL! Its always good.. except last season all the RCR resorts took out there Parks!!! They had a lawsuit against them so canned them..

Sunshine built theres up, was sick! but the hill like said b4 is real flat.
Panorama has a new huge park this season n the hill is pretty sweet!

Revelstoke is one of the best mountains up there, so sick. When i was there got 20Cm fresh everday!! No park tho, but sweet mountain to just rip. insane tree runs!!

RCR resorts still have rails no jumps though. I was in fernie the last year of jumps. One of them was ok, the other 3 sucked so you aint missing out anyways.

Fernie fucking rules. I would most definately go back there. Revelstoke is finally blowing up. Some suits are injecting major cash into it to make it the next "big thing". Red, Kicking horse, everywhere around there is sick as fuck. infact while typing this I am having flash backs to fernie. Fucking awesome fun.

Keen as on terrace. i heard it is mean. Oh and whitewater ever since I read a thing about in in nz snowboarder about 6 or 7 years ago.

I'm at Kicking Horse at the moment, it's cool as hell, and it's got fuck all snow according to the locals, looks all good to me though.

Revelstoke is awesome too, but they are also lacking in snow...

Come February though, both those fields will be peaking and I would fully recommend both of them.

Sick bro, Go hike T2 & T3 if theres not much snow, they will be sick and no one will have been out there.. Ask a dude in sno school called scottie ta take you... Or John in Darkside...

I got my transceiver etc turning up any day soon, then got an avvy course on 3rd+4th of Jan, then I'll be up there with bells on.

Loving Fuez bowl, that place is awesome.

I live in Revelstoke, The resort is fantastic! Make sure you book accommodation in advance. Sometimes the town is fully booked and then your up shit creek. If you stay at Samesun Backpackers you get discounted Ski Passes. Free shuttle everyday from town.
