Would turoa's park crew please please build a decent park this season !! There's loads of snow on the slopes already so they should have lots to work with. A decent rail and box park would be key with more than just the 1 line. Pvc pipes easy as to get ahold of, mega cheap to buy and can be moved around the park easy. Loads of other fun stuff small hips and a decent jump line would be amazing. In the latest nz snowboarder there's a few sick shots from the cat gap jump they built in spring. We need jumps like that! maybe abit smaller and without the gap to keep the punters from killing themselves on the weekends but yeah what do you guys think? I've spent the last few seasons riding in tahoe and the parks there are amazing loads of fun obstacles to hit heaps of urban junk which im sure mt ruapehu has loads of. Just like with the situation at mt hutt there's loads of potential just need abit more creativity. 2009 will they pull it off or will it just be another typical season at turoa?

Ye man hard im keen for a big as pvc pipe thing and some extra long boxes and rails. It would be good to see a bit more of the hand rail and battleship. Last year was rats because if you wanted to hit the down rail or kink you had to go way off to the side and that was pretty much all you could hit in one run. But yeh its allgood im happy with a couple sweet jumps and nice rails and boxes but it would be better if early season had a whole jib and jump line rather then 2 months later in spring. but apparently the rouffffless storms always mess up the park so its always poos at the start of the season. i herd they once had a big ass pipe thing but it got taken in a storm?

Yeah you often hear about the park not being up to scratch due to poor weather, but how come overseas they don't have the same issues. In the northern hemisphere you can get 2m of snow in a week. What the park crew does is digs out the features and places them in a area where if they get dumped on, it can easily be dug out. I guess at rua's they get quite abit of wind which can destroy features. They do have a decent wall ride which is sick. Was pleased to see whakapapa got abit creative last season with that picnic table tire and log jib in their small park. Parks bring people, look at snowpark so many riders and skiiers go down south for a month or two to ride because they produce decent parks. How long has it been since you have seen park footage from the north island in a nz snowboard dvd?

Mt Ruapehu's weather is unique. The deal with high winds and ice a lot more than overseas hills. The wind up there in a matter of hours can completely scour out the snow and leave it an icy mess not to mention blow out boards on rails set up and stuff like that The biggest reason though would be funding and dedicated cat time for the park. No money = shit park.

In saying that I would love to see the old turoa park back. Two big jumps in a row with a box, rail and c rail. Simple but well set up will always beat an overly ambitious park that is poorly setup and maintained.

Remember the old shit of fergs killing it Circa 2001-2. The hunt bros and rosco going mental . That was the shit.

The biggest improvement they could make is to extend down to the flyer - add a few more features so that a park run is not over in 8 seconds...
