Hey, I might be going to Wanaka as well for the season, if I don't get a job at the whistler glacier camps, I'll probably go to Wanaka and teach snowboarding at TC. Apparently the best way to get an apartment is go there and find postings in the newspapers and such... I haven't been having the best of luck online, I've found a few decently priced 3 bedroom apt.'s for long term rental... I'll keep you posted if I don't get a position in Whistler, I'm also on Snowboard.com (user=uottawa_rider) I live in Quebec, near Ottawa.

Lots of people in the same boat?!?!?!

Im just gonna book myself in a hostel for the first few weeks and see what happens!!!

Getting jobs looks a little harder unless applying through bigger companies. Ive just applied with nzski, anyone got any experience with them??

WHISTLER
http://www.piquenewsmagazine.com/pique/index.php

http://www.whistlerquestion.com/

Both of these have hundreds of people scour the pages for accom every day, so not a reliable way to find accom. Jobs in Whistler are super easy to get, because of the lack of housing. Best bet is just roll up early ish like November or early December and talk to lots of people.

Don't wait till December! We did and housing was super thin on the ground!

If you want to make things really easy on yourself, apply to work for Intrawest (the mountain), go for a job in ticketing as it pays heaps better, get there real early, like for the job fair and try get into building 7, Glacier staff housing. If it's your first season you'll almost definitely get in. If you want cheap and dero accommodation stick with buildings 1-6 Glacier. If you want a little nicer then building 7 Glacier, then Brio, then Westside.

Good Luck. Whatever happens you'll have a blast :)
