Hey, I'm planning a trip over in Dec/Jan. I was wondering, because I've heard stupendous things about Niseko- but it costs an extra $500 or so to get there from Tokyo! Are there any sweet places in Honshu that will be worth it or should I just splash out and Ride Niseko? If anyone's been there/done that I'd appreciate some info! Thanks.

Niseko is pretty cool, rad mountain kinda flat though, if you wanna go to a resort where theres 90 percent tourist skippys peaking on the so called New Bali then Niseko is the place to go. Its not the same as it was 10 years ago, hit T P up he will tell u all about it.

Theres heaps of rad resorts through out Honshu, Ive experienced killa resorts in the Nagano and Nigata prefectures which milk Niseko and not a tourist in sight so you get the true Japan experience.

Yeah brutha, i'd have to agree. I hit Niseko up for a couple of days this season. There were more Aussies line'in the lift than japanese. There are plenty of other mountains to shred in Hokkaido.
Honshu is def the place to be. Within 2 hours from Nagano city you can experience any terrain you want to ride. Cant give to much away though. No friends(well not much friends) on powdy day right???
Enjoy.

Sweet. Thanks for the help so far! I was worried about that- Because Niseko has such a good name, everyone goes there, ya know?
So it may just be Honshu then! Makes organising travel a whole lot easier :) Domo arigato gusiamasu

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the help! I finally remembered my password and username- I DID end up going to Japan, and riding at Hakuba last summer. It was life-changing!
