South Island - The Remarkables
The Remarkables is made up of three basin, two of which are lift accessed. Shadow Basin, has open intermediate and advanced runs, Shadow Bowl and the Alta Chair have plenty of long, wide open beginner and intermediate runs.
Shadow Basin and Sugar bowl are lift accessed and traversing from the Shadow Basin chhailift will get you to Lake Alta with its off-piste steeps and shoots.
Location:
From Queenstown follow Highway 6 out of town. At Frankton turn right, still on Highway 6. The access road is four kilometres along on the left. The road to the skifield is an unsealed road, 14km to the car parks.
