Innsbruck -  November 3rd, 2008: Last weekend, thousands of visitors attended one of the biggest extreme sport trade shows in Italy, the Modena Skipass Freestyle Meeting, where they got the chance to see Italys best riders battling against the rest of Europes snowboarding forces hitting the Hip of the 3Star Burton Stomp It to catch some early season TTR points.

Winner of the night was Giorgio Ciancaleoni (ITA), pushed by the crowd to some incredible height considering the size of the obstacle and some stylish tricks, moving him into the TTR Top100. The Austrian rider Philipp Gruber came second, and Swiss rider Stephan Maurer rode hard to better his Top5 spot, now sitting in World No.3 increasing his chances to move into World No. 2 this weekend at the 4Star Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam. I didnt plan to go high in the TTR rankings when attending all those events in the Southern Hemisphere. But I was lucky and I am now in a good position for the rest of the season., says Maurer after the final. I know though that in order to save my spot I need to step it up against the big names out there in the Northern Hemisphere season, such as the 6Star Burton European Open, which I plan to attend.

Watch out for news on this weekends event to see how Maurer will perform against the European snowboarding elite this Friday and Saturday in Austria.
