Boreal Opening Day
8th November 2008
Donner Summit, CA, USA The time is upon us and Old Man Winter has smiled upon Boreal Mountain Resort.
Under sunny skies, opening day at Boreal saw a busy ticket window of anxious skiers and snowboarders awaiting their first chance to shred the only resort in Tahoe to open this season. A local snowboarder standing in the lift line summed up what was on everyones mind, Thank goodness. Its been a long 5 months. The lift line kept moving thanks to the new Castle Peak Quad chair in operation for the first time this season, taking riders 450ft higher on the beginning slopes where riders could choose to cruise the hill or hit up the 10 features built in the terrain park.

Alongside the public brought a slew of news crews, media, and Pro Shredders. Local legend and Pro rider Andy Finch had this to say, Sunny and sick! Boreal stepped it up its (terrain) features with a full stair feature followed by a C box then S box. Its how Tahoe is supposed to be. With so much buzz in the air, everyone had something to add about opening day.
Chas Guldemond: Nice weather, nice new outfit, good jibs, fun times.
Brett Butcher: Best Boreal opening day ever! Yeehaaaaaaa! (insert cowboy hat)
Nick Visconti: Welcome to the danger zone.
Lane Knaack: Its sweet to finally be able to snowboard again on such a beautiful day.
Tim Eddy: Today is the best day ever made.
Jason Badgley: I wanna give Jon Slaughter a hug.
