New shuttle service on Treble Cone mountain road

6th May 2009

Treble Cone adds another new service to its operation this winter with daily shuttle services up and down the Access Road for visiting skiers and riders.

Back by demand, the service will operate morning and afternoon, and be ideal for visiting skiers and riders who prefer to drive 20minutes from Wanaka on the sealed Mt Aspiring Road, park their car at the bottom of Treble Cone and then catch a comfortable shuttle up the 7km gravel access road to the ski area.

Treble Cone Operations Manager, Sam Fulton, says the service is an ideal solution for those guests who have reservations about driving the ski areas mountain road.

Many of our international guests are in a foreign alpine environment, in rental cars and have never driven on unsealed roads.  This new service will put their mind at ease.

The vans will fit 10 people and run on a 45 minute turn around cycle starting at 8:30am each morning and depart the ski area from 2:30pm each afternoon.

The cost of the shuttle will be $10 one way and $15 return.  Bookings will not be essential, but can be secured by contacting the ski areas customer services.

There will also be daily shuttles to the ski area from Wanaka with Alpine Coachlines, and from Queenstown with Kiwi Discovery and Info & Track.

A full timetable will be available www.treblecone.com and advertised throughout the season.
