The first K2 Parklife Mini Shred took place at The Remarks in July and was enjoyed by many young skiers and snowboarders who will once again battle it out in the Tararua Real Iced Coffee (TRIC) Beginner Terrain Park on September 20.

Ross Lawrence, Ski Area Manager, said hes excited about the second event following the success of the first event in July.

This is the chance for the kids to ski and ride with their buddies in a competition scenario and show how far theyve progressed this season. In July we saw these girls and boys pushing themselves to their limits, this time around were sure to see them step it up to the next level in their riding and skiing, he said. The TRIC Beginner Park is perfect for this kind of event, its been designed and built to help skiers and riders progress their skills in a relaxed environment.

There is always a great atmosphere at the K2 Parklife Mini Shred, the kids are all supportive of each other, spectators have plenty of action to watch and there are some great prizes on offer from K2, Sessions, Smith Optics, Nikita Clothing and Parklife.  And spring is the perfect time to hang out with mates in the parks.

There are three categories in the competition - Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12 - for both male and female skiers and snowboarders. Entry is free to all competitors with a $20 refundable bib deposit. Helmets are compulsory. Entrants without a season pass can also purchase a day pass at 50% off when they register.
