Nick Brown podiums with a bronze,
Stef Zeestraten and Nick Hyne place fourth and fifth

Calgary, Canada - New Zealands Nick Brown scored 42 points placing him third at the first ever slopestyle finals in the history of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup at Canada Olympic Park, just outside of Calgary, Alberta today.

Browns teammates Stef Zeestraten and Nick Hyne placed fourth and fifth giving the kiwis three of the top five spots at the competition.

I am super stoked for sure, said Brown of his performance.

The course was real fun and it was awesome to ride with Hyna (Hyne) and Dutchy (Zeestraten) in the final.

To get third definitely feels good. Team NZ three, four, five is pretty cool.

"To take out three of the top five spots at the World Cup is a tremendous accomplishment for the NZ team, commented Robett Hollis, president of the New Zealand Snowboard Union (NZSBU).

To have such a magnificent performance from all three of our NZ riders speaks volumes.
The future potential that our nation has at the Slopestyle discipline is one that should not be overlooked. NZ is dominating and I can proudly say that today is a huge day for our snowboarding community!"

All three will stay in Calgary where teammates Jake Koia, and Olympian, Julian Bray as well as fellow New Zealander, Rebecca Torr will join them making up one of the biggest ever kiwi contingents at the Canadian Burton Open which takes place this week.

Canuck Marc McMorris (16) celebrated his first victory in his second World Cup participation with a score of 45.1 points. Seppe Smits of Belgium placed second with 42.9 points.
