GUEST APPEARANCE BY SNOWBOARDING LEGEND PETER LINE AT QUARTERPIPE EVENT
24th July 2007

LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (July 24, 2007) ? The Burton Global Open Series announces that none other than snowboarding guru and inspiration to thousands, Peter Line will compete in the Invitational Quarterpipe Jam at this year?s Burton New Zealand Open.
Line (33), who hails from Washington State, USA, is often credited as the guy who turned snowboarding into the sport it is today. Back in the early 1990?s it was Line who pulled the first switch (backward) tricks and then introduced the corkscrews and spins. He?s been a medalist at the Winter X Games no fewer than six times and also started two of the biggest snowboard brands in the world (Forum and Four Square).
Line is renowned for his no-holds-barred big mountain riding but it?s his parkside action the crowds at this year?s Burton NZ Open will be enjoying. Spectators at the Quarterpipe Jam will see the three times X Games Big Air gold medalist go head-to-head with the likes of current title holder Mason Aguirre and the air is guaranteed to be huge.
?Line is like a god to the younger riders ? they all know who he is and they?ll certainly be pushing the envelope to try and out do him,? said event manager, Reuben Yeoman. ?We?re going to be seeing these guys getting six metres, maybe even more, out of the pipe ? now that?s a sight not to be missed!?
The Invitational Quarterpipe Jam takes place on Friday August 10th at 6pm under floodlights at Snow Park NZ accompanied by tunes from top Kiwi DJ?s. ?It?s a real party atmosphere ? what better way to spend a Friday night? Best of all, it?s free!? said Yeoman.
