Fresh snow freshens Coronet Peak

2nd August 2007

Fresh snow at Coronet Peak heralds a timely return to winter according to ski area manager Hamish McCrostie.

The ski area received 5 ? 10 centimeters overnight with a further 3 or 4 centimeters falling throughout today much to the delight of skiers and riders enjoying fresh tracks.

?The temperatures have cooled significantly from last week?s highs and we?re expecting snow to continue falling overnight with weather beginning to clear tomorrow,? said Mr McCrostie. ?We?ve got very good skiing and riding on groomed and packed powder on the main trails and fresh pockets of wind drifted new snow off piste.?

The upper mountain snow depth is around 60cms.  All lifts are operational as is the Dirty Dog Terrain Park.
