First 07/08 Swatch TTR SIX(6)STAR event ready to launch Northern Hemisphere

Munich, Germany ? Riders, fans, and sports enthusiasts are counting down the last seven days until the Swatch TTR SIX(6)STAR Nokia Air & Style 2007 hits Munich, guaranteeing an explosion of progressive riding and entertainment. The competition boasts 16 of the world?s best snowboarders, set to battle it out for 1000 Ranking Points and ?100 000 ($150 000 USD) at the first of SIX Swatch TTR SIX(6)STAR events of the 07/08 season which could significantl influence the chase for the $250 000 USD end of season prize money. Featured in the main event is the reigning Nokia Air & Style Title Holder Travis Rice (USA), 05/06 Tour Champion Mathieu Crepel (FRA), current World Nr 3 Torstein Horgmo (NOR), and hometown hero David Benedek (GER).

The Nokia Air & Style 2007 is sure to be even bigger and better than last season. Upwards of 30 000 fans are expected to fill the Olympic Stadium on Saturday December 1st, ready to witness snowboarding?s elite hit bigger features with limitless options and deliver their technical freestyle skills. The entire bottom section has been redesigned featuring multiple jumps and rails that sit below one of the biggest kickers ever constructed. Riders will stand 43 meters above the ground and rocket themselves at over 70km/h towards a gap of 8 meters that sits 17 m high, ensuring maximum potential for both big ?Air? and big ?Style?.

Travis Rice (USA) will be looking to defend his Nokia Air & Style Title and could become the third rider in the world to win the title consecutively. However, currently sitting at World Number 3 and fully recovered from a broken back, Torstein Horgmo (NOR) will likely become the new Tour Leader upon successfully competing at this season?s competition. This could be the first time in his TTR career that he has reached World Nr 1 and a win would give him a 90.93 point lead above current Swatch TTR World Tour leader Mason Aguirre (USA), who would move down to World Nr 2.

Swiss rider Nicolas M?ller (SUI) is slated to return along with David Benedek (GER) who both set the stage last year for incredibly progressive riding with mind blowing tricks no one had thought possible, such as a one-footed BS 720 and a FS double-corked 1260. Others to look out for are Risto Mattila (FIN), a major competitor who finished 2nd at last year?s Nokia Air & Style and is looking to place himself on the Swatch TTR ranking map, as well as Kevin Pearce (USA) who will move from his current rank of 9th into the Top 5 by successfully competing in Munich.

Also ready to rock the stage are popular music acts 30 Seconds to Mars, The Hives, and Sean Paul, who will send electricity through the air and pump up the crowd for the season?s first SIX(6)STAR event. The night promises to highlight the best riding from the top professionals in snowboarding, raising the bar for future Swatch TTR World Tour events and allowing the drama for the 07/08 season to ensue.
