MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN'S NIGHT OF LIGHTS CELEBRATION A HUGE SUCCESS

15th January 2008

Mammoth Mountain, CA ? The popular Night of Lights returned to Mammoth Mountain on Saturday, January 12, 2008 to an excited crowd of thousands who gathered at Canyon Lodge. Night of Lights is a special thank you to Mammoth?s guests and celebrates the magic of winter against the majestic backdrop of Mammoth?s ski slopes. Highlights of the evening included a freestyle snowmobile demo, torchlight parade and stunning firework show.

?We are so pleased with the outcome of the evening, Night of Lights is such a great way to bring the community together,? said senior vice president and longtime Mammoth local Bill Cockroft. ?With the success of this year?s event, we look forward to continuing the tradition.?

Families and friends watched in amazement as Red Bull SCS Sled Style riders Heath Frisby and Joe Parsons nailed huge ninja knacks, turndown whips, back flips, cliff hangers and tsunamis over the 70 foot super kicker and 85 foot snow gap. The torchlight parade created a magnificent trail of lights on the slopes of Clover Leaf, with a special appearance by a skiing Woolly. With Lincoln Mountain providing the ultimate backdrop, the firework show was vibrant, original and a true crowd pleaser.

Originating nearly two decades ago, Night of Lights began as an annual celebration of winter in Mammoth Lakes. Night of Lights was last held in December of 1995 and was continued in 2008 as a fun-filled family winter lights tradition.
