A new expanded pizzeria will be built in the Captain?s Basin at Cardrona Alpine Resort. It will be situated in the same location as the existing pizzeria but will have over double the number of seats (240) and toilets (15). The building will extend out to the north and east providing spectacular views of the Cardrona Valley as well as overlooking the new Captain?s Express chairlift drive station.

The food service area, kitchen and pizza oven will be much larger ensuring more pizzas are made, more quickly, with faster queue times. The gourmet pizzas, espresso coffee, beer, wine and beverages will be complimented by a wider variety of fresh food.

Over $7mn will be spent this year including the new high speed detachable chairlift and snowmaking.

Gary Husband, Field Manager, says, ?the Captain?s Basin has wide open slopes of mostly gentle and moderate gradient making this a great area to build confidence on skis and snowboards. Most skiers and snowboarders are intermediate and they will now have the best facilities on top of the best slopes we can possibly offer the intermediate customer?.

The new Captain?s Caf? will be open by the start of the season.
