Soulsystem is our latest music project. We've been writing and jamming together since October last year. The sound could be described as Soul/Dub... But that's enough genre talk

We've just recorded our first CD, the RiseEP, produced by ourselves and mixed and mastered by the talented DJ Messenjah of Dubwise. The songs are free to download from our myspace site so go nuts! ... and if you want an original CD version email us back with your address and we'll send you one. Tracks from the EP have been doing the rounds on RDU (that's 98.5 fm) so listen out for that too.
 
Since the start of the year we've been playing gigs all over and jamming regularly at a place called Bar Beleza on Lichfield Street in Christchurch. Christina and Julie who run the bar are all about supporting the local music scene and have been awesome, providing a cool chilled out venue in the centre of town where the bands and musicians can mix it up and jam together and anyone can roll down and listen. So if you're ever in Christchurch and looking for some good sounds get down there and support them, they're doing great things for music in our city.
While you're there don't forget to order a Caiparinha.
 
Soulsystem will be playing there this Friday the 9th and TAOS will be jamming into the early hours on Saturday 10th so don't miss it.
 
Last but not least. This Saturday (10th of May) we'll be playing at the DUX with Auckland based reggae/funk/soul band TAHUNA BREAKS (check it www.myspace.com/musictahunabreaks ) so come on down and get amongst it. We'll be on about 9:30 followed by Tahuna Breaks at 10:30, and it will all be over in time for the crew to roll down and catch Taos at Bar Beleza afterwards ... What a mean night!
