It was a festive Friday evening May 30th on the North Shore of Auckland city. With 1 foota's rolling up on Takapuna beach.

 The noise in the background, what sounded like seagulls lurking in the area, but, it was the men themselves on the mic , FTB creator Mr Willie B, and Citys Tom "the grom" Hull.


A curious audience started to fill the grass bank that drops down onto Takapuna beach, Where DJ Dform mixed it up from the back of the Red Bull Hummer.

Before you knew it there was a pumping atmosphere amongst the event. With riders of all ages giving it all they had on to the 'flat down' box running in on 12ton of shaved ice!


The rider's performance was at a high level through out the whole night. With Blayes Heaven ripper and being the youngest competitor at 13 now with FTB and Cheapskates Takapuna as his sponsors.

 20-year-old Dylan Sutton, from Whangaparoa who rides for FTB and Us took first place walking away with a cheque for a sweet $1000 big ones.

 Second was Leon "the new Groube" McKay 17, from Orewa/wanaka whose with Burton, Grenade gloves, Eesa, Analog, & Demon energy.

 
Lorenzo (Leroy) Christianson 19, Ohakune OG, took third place. Leroy's been shredding it since a young age, he rocks DC, Oakley, and FTB. 

First Woman went to 20-year-old Christy Prior. Christy rides for 686, Oakley, Us, Bakoda, Venue, Northwave, and Drake.


After the comp we had the R18 after party and Premier for the new MTN Lab 1.5 DC film, the party was jumpin and the video was sick.

It turned out a successful, buzzing night. Which is a
great start to what is now going to be an annual event.
