Treble Cone all set to OPEN after fresh snowfall

3rd July 2008

Treble Cone announced today that the ski area will open the Home Basin tomorrow after good natural snowfall overnight.

The ski area received 15-20cm of natural snowfall around the base lodge and 30cm on the upper Home Basin.

Area Manager Jackie van der Voort says, fresh snowfall received overnight was well received and just what everyone was waiting for.

While weve had good snow making progress this week, we just needed an extra cover of natural snowfall to ensure trails had good snow base and were safe to open to skiers and riders. This is very timely with the busy School Holiday period about to begin.

Opening day tomorrow will be celebrated with Amisfield bubbles along with live music to entertain the lunchtime crowd.

Current snow base is now 25cm on the lower Home Basin and 55cm at the top of the Volkswagen Express chairlift.

With more fresh snowfall forecasted, the ski area is hopeful the Saddle Basin will open as soon as weather and snow conditions allow.
