Nick Hyne tops table again in Slope Style

7th September 2008

Round #3 of the Cadbury Moro Slope Style again took place in stunning weather and superb snow conditions at The Remarkables yesterday (Saturday 6 September).

And once again Parklife team member Nick Hyne of Queenstown claimed top spot and the $500 prize for first open male in the snowboard section.  He was followed by Takahiro Ishida who picked up $300 for his efforts while Mark Anderson in third place was awarded $250.

Shelly Gotlieb also based in Queenstown won $250 for the top spot in the open female section with Myake Asuko in second and Maiko Ikeda in third place each taking home a fistful of cash.

In the Open Male Ski category Matt Soundy was first followed by Matt Johnson and Ben Rotto in second and third place respectively.

NZSki Youth Action Coordinator Josh Clark said it was a solid day of riding.

Nick Hyne again claimed victory over the pack with a Switch Backside 900 into a Cab 900 while  Mark Anderson went switch back same way into switch backside 720 into cab 720 into switch wall ride. It was great to see Shelly riding super strong all day pulling a 720 on the Pro line.  Matt Soundy was impressive to landing a switch unnaturally 720.

Josh also thanked Ride Snowboards for providing an additional $750 towards the prize pool taking it to a total of $1,450, the balance offered by Parklife of The Remarkables Ski Area.
